There’s a reason you know Peaches. The Toronto native (and Scorpio sun) has made a name for herself as what some may see as a provocateur; others know her as an outspoken, queer feminist who has embedded herself in popular culture. Her latest track, “Pussy Mask” is a cheeky response to anti-maskers that puts her genitalia front and center, literally—the track was given a NSFW video treatment, directed and animated by Leah Shore. Watch it below.

“Because of the pandemic, our collective anxieties unite us more than ever. Even though it may not affect each one of us the same way, we all have similar base concerns. A serious reminder that we are all in this together. I wanted the song to be absurd and fun but also a reflection of our concerns. The humor shines some light into our dark, confusing, and frustrating reality.” – Peaches

Mask on. Peaches employs her usual magic on “Pussy Mask,” including clever rhymes and a steady beat. She references political figures including AOC and Dr. Fauci while retaining a sense of humor best exemplified by the accompanying video clip. The lead character, credited simply as Pussy, leaves trails behind it like a well-hydrated snail—she’d make Cardi and Megan proud. Remember to wear your mask and diligently wash your hands, even if you have been vaccinated; we could use all the slices of Swiss cheese we can get.
