BRICK!

Los Angeles newcomer and self-evident tastemaker BRICK! has shared his third single, and good god-damn is it a jam. “Thursday!” (feat. Guapdad 4000 and KYLE) with its elastic bounce, the beat jumps at the world’s collective itchiness to get back to partying — and if ever there was an anthem for the urge it’s BRICK!’s latest hit. But it’s also a sly celebration of the longtime DJ, producer, and now solo artist’s 25th birthday. Then there are the explosive features that stack atop “Thursday!” and its bass concussions. Without a doubt rapper and singer/songwriter Guapdad 4000 has some of the most memorable bars on the track — you’ll know them when you hear them — lighting up the song’s laid-back beats.

If “Thursday!” is your first taste of BRICK! we’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is you’ve really only have two other songs to throw on repeat (and on repeat, they will stay). Although chances are you’ve heard his work from behind-the-scenes as a songwriter and producer for artists like Baby Keem and Travis Scott. The good news is both previous singles are exceptional and when his debut EP/LP drops it’s going to implode the hip-hop scene in LA.

BRICK!’s first single “The Start” combines his lush production with his earnestly lyrical bars, while his second single “Safe & Warm” added a whole new dimension to his artistry: music videos. True to its title “Safe & Warm” does indeed make you feel safe and warm, the kind of feel-good buoyant track that mirrors the music video’s similarly charming tale.
