LA’s Talker Releases Cosmically Entwined New EP “In Awe of Insignificance“

Holding onto the beauty of the world and understanding that our presence is finite, Talker’s Celeste Tauchar revels in her impermanence and gives thanks for the world and universe around her with her new EP, In Awe of Insignificance.

Upbeat but not manic, easy to access but not without substance, Tauchar’s EP is etched in a warm indie pop/rock sound with sweeping instrumentals and rich undertones. Thematically, her new release touches on the infinite space of the universe and how small we are in it. Rather than letting this fact boil over into an existential crisis, she embraces the unknown and decides to make the most of the time she has.

Channeling a celestial wisdom, Talker dives head first into her humanity, not afraid of the depths she will reach or internal tides she will weather. Over the course of eight songs, Talker lets her feelings and sensations expand, making note of them and staying ever present in her individual experience whether it be the tactile pleasure of feeling the summer sun on her skin to the budding of emotions, good or bad. At the same time, she also takes a bird’s eye view of everything she is and all that surrounds her.

“As the state of the world has continued to evolve and it still feels like everything is changing at rapid speed, the one thing I’ve tried to hold onto from all of this is that sense of awe,” she notes. “The wonder of just stepping outside and feeling my feet in the grass. Or on the pavement. Trying to be as present as possible. Feeling every emotion big and small, good or bad, and just being here with it.”

Pairing her album with several visually stunning and inventive music videos, Talker creates a beautiful dreamlike interpretation of this experience we call life. Along with her new EP, Talker will release a new remix from musician Bartees Strange, and be a featured cast member in the Netflix film “Purple Hearts,” playing herself as a keyboardist.
