Fusing together genres such as pop, jazz, and rock, Grammy winning Colombian group Monsieur Periné have cultivated a powerful stage presence with a diverse catalog of music to pull from on stage. The band takes their musical prowess to LA with a performance at The Ford on Sunday, July 24 with supporting act Reyna Tropical. The band also has dates set for July 20 in San Francisco at SFJAZZ; July 22 in Palm Springs at Pappy & Harriet’s; and July 23 in San Diego at the Music Box. See full tour dates below.

In addition to their upcoming show, the band has released two new singles this year, “Tu Y Yo” featuring Vanesa Martín and “Nada.”

Written as a Pride celebration anthem and to champion the freedom to love whoever you want, “Tu Y Yo” is a powerful declaration of love and humanity. Musically, the single is fun, catchy and incredibly upbeat. Latin elements add a flair to the already diverse genres and sounds found in “Tu Y Yo,” and the overall atmosphere is one of acceptance. Overall the new single is fresh, optimistic and comes from a place of understanding, compassion and of course, love.

The accompanying music video was filmed in Mexico City and features 25 different people with their own real love stories featuring intimate moments, expressions of joy, happy outings and tender feelings. Mexican transgender star Zammoa makes a cameo, as well as Youtube influencer SoyDarioGabriela OrtegaUriel Suarez and more.

“’Tu Y Yo’ is a song inspired by a story of true love,” Monsieur Periné’s singer Catalina Garcia explains. “It’s a story of a love so big that it can break through all barriers. It was written as a letter whose sender understands between the lines why they feel a certain way with their heart.”

Monsieur Periné previously released “Nada” focuses on the sour side of love and moves at a slightly slower pace. Written in the midst of a painful breakup, “Nada” evokes feelings of nostalgia, bittersweet pain and an overwhelming feeling of loss as one realizes there is no turning back to save their relationship; it is gone forever.

Both singles, plus their 2021 single “Volverte A Ver” appear on Monsieur Periné‘s upcoming new album — title and release date yet to be dropped. Together for over a decade, Monsieur Periné has created a vast and interesting soundscape with a continually evolving sound. More is to come from this dynamic band.

Monsieur Periné’s performance at The Ford is set to be an intimate and cozy outdoor concert experience. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, the open-air amphitheater is relatively intimate at just under 1,200 seats all within 96 feet of the stage. Patrons who visit the esteemed venue get the chance to experience world class acts in an unparalleled setting.

Other shows taking place at The Ford include Les Claypool on Friday, July 29; Kikínceañera: Noche De Orgullo on Friday, Aug. 26; Desde México: Pacífico Dance Company 30th Anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 10; and IBEYI on Thursday, Sept. 15.
