LP gives a roaring adoration and affirmation of love on their new record Love Lines. They will also be embarking on a massive world tour next month, including performances at the House of Blues in Anaheim on October 21 and at the Youtube Theater in Los Angeles on November 24. Across 12 emotionally volcanic tracks the singer/songwriter offers up the refulgent reflections of the heart — echoing the anthemic and lyrical candor of their fourth studio album Lost on You.

Playing to their resplendent strengths Love Lines unfolds as a series of rousingly jubilant songs that see LP kindling the embers of romantic, platonic, and self-love. Its opening track “Golden” is a resounding, heart-on-the-sleeve reckoning with the dissolution of a relationship, gilding the pain that comes with it in a fiercely buoyant faith in the heart’s ability to heal.

The propulsive and driving “Wild” follows up that optimism with frantic devotion: “I could be your North Star / I could be the love of your life,” they howl against soaring strums. “I could warm your cold heart / I could walk the edge of your knife.” Though the rapturous “Dayglow” — accompanied by a music video directed by Juan David Salazar that sees LP joining in on the Prague Pride Festival festivities — is a triumphant distillation of the album’s very soul.

That melodic jauntiness explodes again on the aptly titled “Love Song,” which mingles a rhymic pummeling of drums with shimmering synths. But it’s not all rollicking and stirring anthems — with songs like its title track “Love Lines” and single “One Like You” appearing as swaying ballads that blossom via the intimacy conjured by LP’s eloquently poignant lyricism.

On “Blow” they tune their lovesick lamentation and chilling abandonment to mournful piano keys and dolefully plucked strings. Other standouts on the record include the side-winding rhythms that tumble within the acoustic webs of “Burn It Down” and the earnestly vulnerable closing track “Hold The Light” — which also features LP’s sublime whistling.
