Los Angeles outfit Crush Club declare themselves irresistible dynamos of disco house euphoria on their latest EP, The Sun. Summer might be technically over, but that giant orb of superheated plasma stays scorching here on the West Coast while the nights keep scintillating with resplendent dancefloor bangers. Caught in the wave of that torrid ecstasy is vocalist TC Milan and producer/multi-instrumentalist Le Chev — the captivating duo around which it all orbits.

Crush Club has been bathing its fans and lucky discoverers of their music in shimmeringly kinetic hits since 2016. A trio of singles announced their arrival: electro-funky “Get Me Off” and “Louder,” as well as the life-affirming and iridescently soulful anthem “We Dance.” Their music sends you rocketing through rallying chorus lines where beats spiral with dazzling effect.

Two years later, debut EP Alive further established Milan and Chev as ardent generators of radiantly textured pop. Syncing their giddy electronica to simmering explorations of love’s effervescent passion and volatility. From the surging delirium of “Higher” to the dreamy guitar lines that wind around inquiries of commitment on “Trust.” It even included a version of “We Dance” (feat. Supermini) that elevated its rhapsodic emotion to new heights.

Crush Club has also found themselves at the center of a series of collaborations and remixes for an array of other artists — LP Giobbi, Sofi Tukker, Sigrid, Kim Petras, and others — underscoring their knack for identifying and modulating the hidden bliss of any track. Le Chev even co-produced songs off LP Giobbi’s debut album and the solo record from Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters. The latter is a rather stunning stamp of approval regarding their rising status as pop tastemakers.

The Sun continues the duo’s ravishing streak of dance hits with tracks like the exhilerating rays of synths that blaze on “Sunshine” and entrancing ignitions of bass that thrum within “Flame.” On “Galaxy Man” they take to the cosmos — beaming their interstellar search for romance into space, fueled by its undercurrent of pulsating electronics. If you were yearning for a soundscape paradise you just found it.
