It had been five thrilling years since Canadian sensation Allie X dropped her second studio album, Cape God, and last night, fans could close the circle of the era at the Bellwether in downtown Los Angeles. As the stage filled with a mist of smoke, the audience buzzed with excitement, crowding in to snag the best spots. With no photo pit separating the stage from the fans, they were up close and personal, elbows eagerly leaning on the black wood, ready to soak in every moment.
Los Angeles-based composer, singer, and songwriter Maiah Manser stepped onto the stage first. With one hand on the beat pad and the other gripping the mic, Manser made it known that she was doing this for the girls, the gays, and the witches in “Hollywood.” The crowd was lost in her eyes in love with “With A Smile” and working overtime as the lights pulsed in rhythm with the energy of her performance. If you didn’t become an instant fan of Manser that night, it was definitely on “You.”
As Manser wrapped up her set, she hurriedly packed her gear, weaving through the crowd to snap selfies and share warm embraces with new fans. The atmosphere shifted as the sounds of birds and vape clouds perfumed the room, signaling that it was time for the main event.

When Allie X took the stage, her otherworldly vocals soared, weaving theatrical yet nostalgic melodies that gave a voice to all who had ever felt out of place, all set against an irresistible trance/dance beat.
There were a bunch of “Super Duper Party People” in the crowd, and they were the “Life Of The Party.” On the balcony, a couple danced joyfully while a guy in the VIP section was just moments away from losing his balance, singing “Rings a Bell” at the top of his lungs.
Manser made a secondary appearance when she joined Allie X on “Love Me Wrong.” The touching duet, originally song by Allie x and Troye Sivan, still echoed the same feels.

Highlights of the night included the unforgettable tracks “Madame X” and “June Gloom,” which were among my favorites. Amidst all the theatrics and celebration of Cape God finally getting its just due and the tour of Allie X’s and fans’ dreams, someone blew bubbles throughout the whole night, adding to the whimsical vibe of the evening.
The night wrapped up with a wild encore of “Off With Her Tits,” leaving the audience buzzing with excitement and memories they wouldn’t forget!
