This past weekend Tyler, The Creator and Goldenvoice teamed up for the sixth year of Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival at Exposition Park. The event drew contagious Tyler fans and hip-hop fans from around the globe. During both days of the festival, attendees were rushing back and forth from the Camp stage and Flog stage to catch their favorite acts, or sprinting to the GOLF merch booths to grab the latest pieces from Tyler’s Golf Wang Collection.
The festival stayed true to the carnival theme they’ve had for the last five years with returning attractions such as the ferris wheel, The Zipper, the flying swings and other carnival games. It comes as no surprise that the festival completely sold out considering the stacked lineup of hip-hop, soul, r&b, punk, EDM and Lana Del Rey. The contrast of genres during both days is what keeps this festival interesting for all, at one point you have back to back punk rock sets from The Garden and Fidlar, then you have hip-hop boy band BROCKHAMPTON — then transitions again for special guest Mac Demarco!
Later on in the day for both Saturday and Sunday, attendees were blessed with some of the best hip hop and soul artists like A$AP Rocky, Solange, Migos, 2 Chainz, Kid Cudi, Earl Sweatshirt and of course Tyler, The Creator who almost all brought out special guests for their sets.
Every year Tyler promises that the next year Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival will be lit-er than than the last, so far he hasn’t let us down.
