Darkwave icon Chelsea Wolfe just announced Birth of Violence, a new album, alongside the release of her first new music since around this time two years ago.

“The Mother Road” is the lead single as well as the opening track of the new record, due out September 13 on Sargent House. That means Angelenos have twice as many opportunities to see Chelsea Wolfe live: she will appear at Pasadena Daydream Festival on August 31 and she also announced a date at The Palace Theatre on November 15 as part of her North American tour, which will be supported by Ioanna Gika.

“The Mother Road” sets the tone for Birth of Violence in foreboding fashion. Its grit is amplified by the quiet but firm guitar that gallops under Wolfe’s vocals. It leads a cavalry of drums and horns into an existential battle that only a new Chelsea Wolfe record could elicit. Embrace the song’s power and face your own internal struggles when it debuts this September.

Pre-order Chelsea Wolfe’s Birth of Violence here. Grab passes to the Pasadena Daydream Festival on August 31 here, which includes headliners such as The Cure, Pixies, Deftones, and of course Chelsea Wolfe.

You can also catch Chelsea Wolfe on November 15 at the Palace Theatre, supported by Ioanna Gika.
