Indie RnB is constantly reinventing itself with the likes of upcoming dynamic artists — enter: Benjamin Carter, a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, but originally from the Cayman Islands. Benjamin’s new single, “Fragile,” embraces his vulnerability over creamy vocals and a funky bass. The chorus features blossoming, atmospheric instrumentals as Benjamin sings of being too deep to get out.
Benjamin channels stories of heartache and love, addiction, gentrification, and years of racial oppression into his music. His goal is to inspire others to chase their dreams no matter how vast. Last year he released his debut EP, Self Portrait Volume 1, via United Masters, and opened the door to an intimate view of his life. His music has been influenced by an array of soulful artists, from Bon Iver and Matt Corby to Daniel Caesar.
