Do LaB, originators and creators of the boutique festival experience Lightning in a Bottle (LIB), have revealed the lineup for the event’s 2022 return to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California. The festival will span over five days, between May 25-May 30, and ends on Memorial Day weekend. Encompassing an eclectic and varied array of talented artists, the music festival is a genre-less musical exploration into creativity and good music.

Since 2006, artists from around the world have been attracted to LIB to show off their music and experience a one of a kind creative stage environment built for immersion and wonder. LIB 2022 will feature many stages, with artists such as  British indie-rock phenoms Glass Animals, Canadian-Haitian beatsmith Kaytranada, American bass music’s prodigal son GRiZ, plus crossover leaders SG Lewis, Purity Ring, and Chet Faker, taking the main Lightning Stage. Up and coming British rapper Little Simz will also make her debut at the festival along with Empress Of and many other newcomers.

This upcoming year’s LIB is proving to be one of the biggest ever, with modifications to some of their well-known hideouts and music tents. Thunder, known traditionally as the event’s bass music enclave, will transform into a tree-lined theater where multiple genres will be showcased in the open-air with its biggest lineup to date, while the Woogie stage — LIB’s premier house and techno hideaway — expands to a full day of events lined up for Thursday, May 26.

Do LaB is also premiering a new stage at LIB called The Junk Yard. The Junk Yard will be the home of the Junk In The Trunk art car; seen at Burning Man, Junk in the Trunk will serve as a stage backdrop and occasionally be mobile around the festival. The Junk Yard will replace Favela Bar as the event’s host for California’s favorite native house and techno artists.

Before next year’s event, Do LaB will bring an immersive sound reactive video sculpture standing 150 feet long to L.A.’s Banc of California stadium during RÜFÜS DU SOL’s upcoming November 12-14 show dates; the band has been a creative partner to Do LaB, and they are LIB alumni. The Glitch Mob’s Boreta will be the soundtrack to the immersive sculpture experience and L.A. media house Strangeloop Studios has created audio-reactive visuals for the sculpture. The sculpture will serve as a preview to the installation appearing at LIB.

All of the elements in the upcoming LIB festival, new and old, reflect the “multi-decade commitment to bringing together forward-thinking music across many distinct stages, educational and cause-driven discussions and activities.”

Tickets are now available for LIB 2022. In addition to general admission, LIB will also be offering new VIP experiences that include perks such as access to backstage lounges at Lightning, Thunder, and Woogie stages — all stocked with a full bar — and the ability to see headlining performances at the elevated Lightning Stage viewing area. For those who wish to camp, LIB is also offering a large variety of camping options for attendees via Atlaswyld, a festival-within-a-festival; campers can choose from several glamping options and have access to tailored yoga and wellness classes, culinary programming, Happy Hour mixers, and other high-end encounters.
