Torii Wolf

Torii Wolf has shared another soul-propelling single with the release of “Eye Shadows,” a sonorous and dance-ready track imbued with the artist’s characteristically enigmatic sonics. On it Wolf finds themself caught up in the rapt emotions that come with not just unrequited love but fears of seclusion also. Against pulsating beats and the faint echo of glowing tones that fills “Eye Shadows” is a dreamily earnest and anxious desire for connection.

“I would bleed for you / but you’re taking somebody home,” they howl into the vibrantly dark soundscape. Beaming unconditional devotion into the void is Wolf’s calling card but with “Eye Shadows” they kick up the etherealness right along with its electronica-fueled hooks. And when delivered via their raspily riveting vocals the track emerges as a luminous reminder of Wolf’s formidable ability in delivering blazing catharsis through their music.

Known for their emotionally visceral music and lyrics Wolf’s new track is just one of many releases the Los Angeles queer artist has put out this year. With the recent release of singles “All Ours” and their collaboration with Beginners on “Pure Androgyny,” Wolf is seemingly back to pushing out stellar hit after hit. And just in case you somehow missed it they also released a new EP titled Ancient Flame which contains oscillating bass jams like “Safeword.”
