Cain Culto kicked off his Occulto tour at The Roxy in West Hollywood with a beautifully fierce performance celebrating his debut full-length album, CULTO.
The show was filled with a collision of sounds that influenced Cain Culto’s genre-defying world. He gracefully and fiercely channeled the power of transformation. From his religious upbringing to coming out as gay and embracing his true self, Cain’s had to navigate what that means for the people closest to him. Through it all, he’s stayed true to himself and, above all, fearless, as his lyrics suggest.
Inspired by his Colombian-Nicaraguan roots and wrapped in a theatrical and visual language, fans entered a multifaceted universe unfolding on stage right in front of them. Costume changes, sweat, and queer expression occupied the same space, making this album release celebration an energetic and sexy manifestation that matched the crowd’s energy.
Fans welcomed all the new songs, and especially “Duelen” featuring Lido Pimienta. Of course, when fan-favorite “KFC Santería” came on, the energy was bursting, and to top it off, Cain Culto was joined by activist and artist Xiuhtezcatl to close out the night with another favorite track, “Basta Ya!”
Culto not only delivered a feverish performance but also provided an environment where vulnerability and provocation found a home and lived naturally, both on stage and in the crowd.
