Summer may be officially over, but the Hollywood Bowl still has exciting shows coming up. Whether you’re in the mood to put your dancing shoes on for an ABBA tribute on Sept. 25, witness a music lover’s dream collaboration between Erykah Badu and The Alchemist on Sept. 29, or want a night of salsa and jazz with Rubén Blades & Roberto Delgado Big Band and the gorgeous voice of Silvana Estrada on Sept. 30, your bases are covered at the historic amphitheater.

The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA
Friday night (Sept. 25), The Concert: A Tribute to Abba and MenAlive will pay tribute to the legendary group at the Hollywood Bowl, with gates opening at 6:30 PM and the show starting at 8:00 PM. In case you missed it, our giveaway for the show is already out.
While the original ABBA lineup no longer tours, several groups and tribute bands have kept their music alive worldwide. Among them is 21st Century Artists’ The Concert: A Tribute to Abba, which has been putting on shows for well over a decade. For diehard ABBA fans, you can rest assured all the hits–ranging from “Dancing Queen” to “Mamma Mia”–will be heard in all their glory.
Joining them is the Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus, known through their performances as MenAlive. No stranger to big stages across the US, the ABBA opening slot marks their fifth appearance at the Hollywood Bowl for ABBA tributes after opening in 2013, 2015, 2019, and 2022.
Lauren Halsey’s emajendat Erykah Badu and The Alchemist
After dropping their joint album, Before the World Blows, Erykah Badu and The Alchemist bring together an eclectic lineup of musicians and visual artists for their Hollywood Bowl show on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Badu and Uncle Al’s team-up first sent shockwaves last year on their Abi & Alan tour, which brought together one of soul’s most prominent voices and one of hip-hop’s most consistent producers. To put it simply, the two demand respect, as do their accompanying openers Anderson .Paak (as his DJ Pee .Wee persona) and Flea with his solo trumpet music.
As if having all those heavy-hitting artists–AKA, your favorite musician’s favorite musicians–the Bowl will get the same treatment as visual artist Lauren Halsey’s emajendat London show in 2024. Besides the great music, expect technicolor stages, immersive experiences, and maximalist architecture from Halsey. Oh, and both worlds will come together with fellow visual artist Charles Gaines Collective and musicians Black Nile and Devin Daniels.
Rubén Blades & Roberto Delgado Big Band: Fotografías Tour
Still going strong after an acclaimed career spanning decades, with a new project called Fotografías, Rubén Blades is coming to the Hollywood Bowl with Robert Delgado Big Band and singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Before gates open at 6:00 PM, you should keep your eyes open for a ticket giveaway from us via our newsletter and Instagram.
You can’t talk about the history of salsa music in NYC and the world at large without mentioning Panama’s Rubén Blades. As one of the faces behind the movement, he took an already shapeshifting genre born out of several cultural sounds and pushed it further into areas like rock, jazz, and other Latin American music. Helping him perform Fotografías is Roberto Delgado & Orquesta, his go-to backing band and proven salsa orchestra in their own right.
As for Silvana Estrada, she’s perhaps one of the leading voices in Latin American music today. Hailing from Veracruz, Mexico, she was drawn to the Venezuelan cuatro as one of her primary instruments while in university. From there, she took the rest of the world by storm, earning a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist and becoming no stranger to performing in LA and other major cities. Estrada has headlined the Walt Disney Concert Hall and consistently casts a spell of enchantment with her music. This double bill is not to be missed.
