Death Grips ACTUALLY show up at FYF Fest

Guess what? Death Grips showed up at FYF Fest.

They walked on stage, and played a set that was intense x 1,000. The stage was bathed in fixed red lights with the crowd drowned in darkness. At the Trees Stage there are no screens showing what’s on and that somehow seemed fitting for this act. They are entirely unpredictable.

I was at the center back, not daring to brave the crush of the mosh pit, and I really could not see a thing but I certainly could hear (and literally feel) it all. It was a violent assault on the senses of what can only be described as guttural. MC’s voice husky and drowned out by heavy bass I could only pick out a few “fucks” here and there. Die hard fans, though, were rap-yelling every lyric. The thumping noise of the metal-rock-rap didn’t let up for a second. Take a look at the #DeathGrips hashtag over on Instagram to see some of the damage to body, phones and shoes that fans proudly showed off. It was all worth it.
