vote midterms

If you got a long line at the polls today, pop this voting playlist on for some inspiration; use it to pump that patriotism back up (we know it’s been down since 2016) and blast the shit out of it when you send off your ballot.

Featuring 20 songs that inspire change and power to the people, many of the artists and acts included on our voting playlist are no strangers to protest music and activism. Many have been quite vocal about the importance of voting and bringing some balance back to our representation.

Most recently, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed with Beck and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters for a Swing Left get-out-the-vote event (watch the videos below); Wayne Kramer of the MC5 urged everyone to “VOTE VOTE VOTE” at his recent MC50 tour stop at the Fonda, Patti Smith always encourages that “People Have the Power,” and Run The Jewels are all about calling out injustices and the devil who wears “a bad toupee and a spray tan,” both live and in much of their recordings.

Featured on our Voting playlist: Rage Against The Machine, Billy Bragg, MC5, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Patti Smith,  Arcade Fire, Little Simz, illiterates, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Fugazi, Operation Ivy, Neil Young, Bob Marley, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pussy Riot, A Tribe Called Quest, Moby, The Clash, Run The Jewels and Dead Kennedys.

Enjoy the voting inspiration.
