The Montreal-native / Nashville-based blues songwriter Allison Russell just released her debut solo record Outside Childwill on May 21st on Fantasy Records. Russell commands traditional country melodies and weaves personal stories of resilience with each heartfelt thread.

2. Current Joys

Current Joys is the project of Nick Rattigan. He just released his new album, Voyager, via Secretly Canadian and it is a beautifully intuitive collection of 16 unforgettable tracks that blister with electric vulnerability and passion with all the post-punk vibes and then some.

5. TEKE::TEKE

Blending yesteryear psych sounds and thrashing punk, TEKE::TEKE have dropped their debut album Shirushi, out now via Kill Rock Stars. The Montreal-based seven-piece make badass psychedelic surf-rock with a traditional Japanese folk twist, and it’s thrashingly lovely!
