The Ford and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association have announced The Ford’s 2022 concert season lineup including: Rufus Wainwright, Les Claypool’s Bastard Jazz, Kamasi Washington, Best Coast, José González, Ibeyi, Katzù Oso, Irene Diaz, Silvana Estrada and many more.
The Ford, sister of the grand Hollywood Bowl has been a staple in celebrating Los Angeles music artists and serving a a diverse and delectable palette of sounds for all to enjoy. This year’s Ford lineup features everything from global sounds like Monsieur Periné and Michael Franti & Spearhead, to the modern cuts of She & Him and Warpaint, and classic icons such as Ani DiFranco and Melissa Etheridge — The Ford even delivers music and movement for kids! Bob Baker Marionette Theater Hooray LA is a beloved name in Los Angeles sure to sell out. And that is just a small sampling of concerts and events happening at the 2022 Ford concert season. Season Kick Off at The Ford with FREE 101 Festival
Kicking off the season with the FREE 101 Festival — June 11 & 12 — The Ford and the Hollywood Bowl will bring the Los Angeles music community back to full enjoyment with performances that celebrate the sounds of California.
The Ford performances (June 12), hosted by Novena Carmel, will open with a specially commissioned land blessing presented by Eyooxaarin (meaning “our existence” in Tongva) led by Jessa Calderon & Tina Calderon and performers representing both the Chumash and Tongva people. The lineup will also include: Get Lit poets; DJ, percussionist and vocalist Gingee; hip-hop band Weapons of Mass Creation; bassist, vocalist and composer Tonina; Jimetta Rose & her choir Voices of Creation; DJ, producer, keyboardist and beatboxer Taylor McFerrin; and singer-songwriter maye. The festival closes with multifaceted singer- songwriter Mereba.
The Hollywood Bowl performances (June 11) will feature Ben Harper, “Queen of Percussion” Sheila E., Chilean songstress Mon Laferte, DJ Cut Chemist, and more. Get more details on the Hollywood Bowl 2022 concert season and its 101 Festival date here.
