Lo Moon

Blending yearningly cinematic soundscapes with otherworldly guitar work, Lo Moon had a busy 2017 opening for acts like the War on Drugs and fellow atmospheric-peddlers Air. With a budding penchant for crafting songs that express both a largesse in emotion and piercing intimacy, the band’s songs have an organic growth to them as they unfold around you.

“This Is It,” one of their singles released this past year, envelops everything that is so sublime about Lo Moon’s lush sonics. On the surface, a bare-bones song with minimal vocal work, the track comes together through the melding of its soaring vocals and backing instrumentation. Other songs like, “Thorns,” and, “Loveless,” rumble elegantly restrained against synth cascades and the occasional brass splice. With no album out as 2017 comes to a close, Lo Moon is one to keep your eyes on as the new year rolls in.
