Paper Idol is Bringing Early 2010s Indietronica Into the New Decade

Paper Idol, the brainchild of Milwaukee-born music producer Matan KG, has already made a name for himself creating the kind of indie-electronica bathed in early 2010s nostalgia. His two singles released last year, the heady-thumper “Still So Alive” and bass bumping “Feel Real Pretty,” have uncovered the beginnings of a possible tastemaker in a revitalization of the genre.

“Too electronic for indie fans, too indie for electronic fans,” reads the Paper Idol bio on his Facebook page, but we have a feeling that his eventual debut EP or LP is going to bridge that gap quite spectacularly. With plans to release another single on February 6 , followed by a West Coast tour, Paper Idol is already off to a hot start in 2020 and ready to take his futuristic, avant-garde electronica into the new decade.

Paper Idol will release a 4-song EP in March.

“The EP will have hints of my earlier material, but will sound like nothing anyone’s ever heard from me. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Paper Idol will be playing the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on February 6 opening for Jane Holiday. Visit Paper Idol’s Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on new releases and tour announcements.
